Schuman Makes Iowa Debut

IMG_7139Untitled-1Always on the move, Fight to Finish fighter Frank Schuman is back in the cage again tomorrow night.

King of the Cage is back at WinnaVegas Casino Resort in Sloan, IA and Schuman is scheduled to face off against Council Bluff, IA’s Eric Perry.

Perry holds a professional record of 3-1-1. His last fight was a five-round battle that ended in a draw. Schuman is aware he will have a solid opponent in front of him. “I know that Eric is a well-rounded fighter, not only in his stand up, but his ground game,” said Schuman. “My game plan is to get in there and do what I do. Whether it is standing, or on the ground, I am game for wherever the fight goes.”

Schuman likes to always be prepared to compete, and has no problem with short notice fights. “I was notified around April 25th about this fight,” he said. “I said yes to it, not even realizing it was Mother’s Day weekend. I told my wife Carli, we’ll be spending Mother’s Day together again…at another fight. She smiled and said, ‘OK, but your Mom is going to be mad!’ ” he shared.

“I took the fight due to the fact that I want to stay active. I don’t want the 3-4 month rest or break in between fights. If I am in shape, and a card needs a 170-175 fighter, I’ll take it if it makes sense to take it.”

Schuman currently holds a 4-0 professional record and has spent less than two-and-a-half minutes in the cage in those four fights. His professional fights have all ended in the first round by submission, each one in less than a minute. In his amateur career, he secured his wins in a variety of ways. He has managed 2 TKOs, 1 KO, three submissions and three decision wins.
