Legacy FC 43 heads to Minnesota with Krantz-Larson title fight, Volkmann-Ottow
Legacy FC makes its Minnesota debut on July 17, and a title fight headlines the card.
Legacy FC 43 takes place at Grand Casino Hinckley Hotel in Hinckley, Minn., and the main card airs on AXS TV.
Legacy FC promoter/owner Mick Maynard today confirmed with MMAjunkie that Derrick Krantz (16-8) and Brock Larson (38-9) will headline the event and fight for the organization’s vacant welterweight title.
Krantz, a former Bellator fighter who’s spent the bulk of his recent career with Legacy FC, looks for his third straight win. Most recently, the 27-year-old posted back-to-back submission wins over former UFC fighters Kyle Bradley and Daniel Roberts. He meets another UFC vet in Larson, a 37-year-old Minnesotan who’s won seven of his past nine fights while fighting for organizations such as BattleGrounds MMA, ONE FC and KOTC.
In the co-headliner, another UFC vet from Minnesota, Jacob Volkmann (17-6), takes on fellow 170-pounder Zak Ottow (9-2). A title shot with the night’s main-event winner could be on the line.
In other action, “The Ultimate Fighter 6″ runner-up Tommy Speer (19-7) takes on an opponent to be announced. Other main-card bouts include middleweights Nick Wagner (7-4-1) vs. Chase Waldon (7-1), bantamweights Augusto Mendez (5-0) vs. Donald Williams (4-3), and lightweightsDerek Getzel (7-5) vs. Kenneth Glenn (6-2).
