Saturday night was a triumphant one for professional MMA fighter Leah Letson. After a second round win against opponent Shaena Cox, Letson released this statement on her Facebook page.

“I don’t even know where to begin with this post. This last year has been such a journey. Coming off my first loss and knee surgery, I had to overcome so much to get back in that cage last night. Endless hours of work, blood, sweat and tears went into this past year. This fight meant so much to me and I can proudly say I WON BY KNOCKOUT IN THE 2ND ROUND!

There are so many people I can’t thank enough for helping me overcome the adversities I dealt with the last year. Nickolas Trost – you have believed in me since day one, came to visit me in the hospital the day of my surgery, never gave up on me, came up with a plan to turn me into a completely different fighter and spent countless hours working with me one on one since the day I could get back on the mats executing that plan. You are the brother I never had, my mentor and the best coach I could ask for.

Jake Klipp and Zak Ottow, you guys already know how much you mean to me…we’ve been through so much together and I can’t thank you guys enough for everything you have done for me, not just this past year, but for the past 3 years.

Alex Rosencutter and Rosencutter Ultra Fitness & Performance II LLC you have been a complete game changer for me. I have never been this strong, looked this good, or had this easy of a weight cut before! I am also lucky enough to have the best teammates at Pura Vida BJJ & MMA to help me train and get ready for my fights…I love you guys! I also want to thank my generous sponsors for their financial support, I couldn’t afford this life without you guys: Matt Burdick of Precision Pattern and Engineered Equipment, Jamie Czajka of 360° Distribution, Sini Skodras of Ultimate Sun, Marc Christopher and Eloisa De Leon of Christopher & De León Law Office, and Sandy Hackenmueller of Fight To Finish! I’m back baby!!!!”

We at Fight to Finish would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Letson, who always comes to fight with everything she has — which is fueled by confidence, determination, dedication and passion for the sport. She will continue to grow and advance in this sport, and we are honored to be a part of this journey!
